Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and talented junior lawyer to join our Securities Department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and gain direct experience in a dynamic and challenging legal environment.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Drafting legal documents, including prospectuses, offering memoranda, agreements and closing documents.
- Review and analyze transaction documents, due diligence materials, and corporate records.
- Communicate with clients, regulatory authorities, and other parties involved in securities transactions.
- Participate in meetings, negotiations, and conference calls with clients and counterparties.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on securities laws, regulations, and industry developments.
- Coordinate transaction closings and regulatory filings.
- Provide support on various other matters related to securities law and corporate transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a recognized law school.
- Called to the bar in Ontario, with 0-2 years of post-call experience in securities law.
- Strong knowledge of securities laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client service.
